In 2012, Hot Wheels was expanding in two key hardlines categories: ride-ons and toy extension. As part of the boys' licensing team, I led the charge on the creative development of the Hot Wheels Mega Bloks line, a Team Hot Wheels-inspired line including mini-figs, interchangeable Hot Wheels vehicles and playsets.

Working with the Mega Bloks creative team, we selected the vehicles that would be in the line-up, ensuring that all major vehicle categories were covered by a product in the line. We established a strategy for differentiating the mini-figs while remaining true to the Team Hot Wheels drivers and liveries. We then created playsets inspired by the Hot Wheels test facility, allowing boys the opportunity to build and crash their favorite Hot Wheels vehicles or create their own.

The Hot Wheels Mega Bloks line debuted at New York Toy Fair in 2013 (shown in the gallery below). Product went on sale in time for Holiday 2013 at all major retailers.
